Brother Printer Service Centre

Brother Warranty Service Centre for the South West

Quayside is one of the warranty service centres for Brother machines in the South West. Situated on Marsh Barton, we have ample parking so you can drop off heavy printers without a long walk from your car to our premises.

We carry out warranty and post-warranty work on inkjet and laser printers/multifunctional machines, as well as on scanners. Please note that we do not carry out any repairs on typewriters.

Is my printer worth repairing?

It all depends on the replacement cost of the device. For example, let’s take an A4 inkjet printer with a failed print head.

Our inspection/fix charge is £50+vat, and to supply a replacement print head for an A4 machine is around £60+vat. You can replace the machine for around £100+vat, so it isn’t worth repairing this machine.

However, if the machine is a laser printer, or if it is an A3 inkjet printer, the machine is almost always worth repairing.

The Repair Procedure:

It is imperative that customers telephone our office to make an appointment, prior to bringing machines in. No machines will be accepted for repair at our office without an appointment.

Please note that repairs are not done on a while-you-wait basis, and machines will need to be left with us.

We do not provide technical support for the machines – if your require technical support please telephone Brother on 0333 777 4444. Should you wish for us to investigate issues with your computer or your network, we are able to do so, subject to our standard IT Consultancy charging rates.

  1. Please telephone our office on 01392 412151 to speak to one of our engineers.
  2. We will briefly discuss the issue with you, and agree an appointment for you to bring the machine in to our offices. Please note that we do not conduct any repairs at customer sites. It is not economically viable to visit a site to assess for repairs, then return days later with replacement parts for fitting.
  3. When you drop the machine off with us, we will create the necessary paperwork, and you will need to pay the inspection charge of £50+vat. The inspection charge is non-refundable, but will be subtracted from the labour element of any subsequent repair work.
  4. We will normally aim to assess your machine within 48 hours of receiving it (subject to engineer availability).
  5. Once we have established what works are required on your machine, we will telephone you and tell you what parts, additional labour and timescales are involved to get your machine back to full working order. Should you wish to proceed with the repair, you will need to pay for the replacement parts and labour by credit card over the phone, prior to us ordering the parts.
  6. The parts will be ordered shortly afterwards; consumable parts are usually available on a next-day basis, but engineer-fit parts are held by Brother in a European warehouse. As such these can take up to three working days to arrive with us.
  7. Once the parts arrive, they will be fitted, the machine tested, and then we will contact you to say that the machine is ready for collection.

Below are just a few tips to help you get the best out of your Brother printer.
